Youth Programming

We believe in providing our young members with a vibrant and enriching educational experience that combines a strong foundation in Jewish values and traditions with a modern and inclusive approach. Our program is designed to engage and inspire youth of all backgrounds, fostering a deep connection to their Jewish heritage and empowering them to navigate the complexities of the modern world.

Weekly Shabbat Programming

We host supervised children's learning programs every Shabbat at 10am on the 2nd floor (above the main service) of our synagogue.  These gatherings are supervised by youth directors and are designed to be fun and nurturing, and provide a love of Judaism.  There is no charge for attending and parents are encouraged to seamlessly move between services and upstairs visiting their children.

Bar / Bat Mitzvah Learning

We are delighted to guide and support your child on their journey to becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. This sacred milestone marks a significant moment in their Jewish life and their commitment to Jewish values, tradition, and community. We offer comprehensive and meaningful Bar/Bat Mitzvah training programs that are personalized, designed to provide a well-rounded education, fostering spiritual growth, Jewish identity, and a strong connection to our heritage. Our training program focuses on three essential components: Torah study, prayer proficiency, and meaningful engagement in the wider Jewish community.

Torah Study: Studying the Torah is at the heart of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah experience. Our dedicated team of educators and clergy are committed to providing an engaging and personalized learning environment. Through one-on-one lessons, your child will delve into the weekly Torah portion, exploring its teachings, values, and relevance to their lives. Our goal is to foster a deep understanding of Jewish texts, cultivate critical thinking skills, and inspire a lifelong love for Torah study.

Prayer Proficiency: Meaningful participation in synagogue services is an integral part of being a Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Our training program equips your child with the necessary skills to lead prayers, chant from the Torah and Haftarah, and deliver a meaningful D'var Torah (Torah discourse). We provide comprehensive guidance on Hebrew reading, pronunciation, and understanding of the liturgy, ensuring your child feels confident and connected during their Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony and beyond.

Meaningful Engagement: We believe that becoming a Bar/Bat Mitzvah extends beyond the ceremony itself. It is a stepping stone toward a lifelong commitment to Jewish values and community. Throughout the training process, we encourage your child to engage in acts of tikkun olam (repairing the world), participate in meaningful mitzvah projects, and connect with the broader Jewish community. By engaging in acts of loving-kindness and social justice, your child will develop a strong sense of responsibility to make a positive impact on the world around them.

We understand that each child is unique, and our Bar/Bat Mitzvah training program is designed to accommodate individual learning styles, abilities, and interests. We work closely with families to create a customized plan that reflects their child's strengths and helps them embrace their role as a responsible member of the Jewish community. As your child embarks on this significant journey, we invite you to join us in celebrating their growth and achievements. Our synagogue community is here to provide support, encouragement, and a nurturing environment for your child's spiritual and personal development.
